HAM follows the contented life of Rabbit – capturing his daily adventures, sporting escapades and social outings in silhouette form on a range of thoughtfully crafted wares. Established in 2011, HAM’s minimal aesthetic seeks to adds childhood nostalgia and a fascination with the everyday. These are the key themes that continue to inform HAM’s growing range of animal motifs, all of which have been created by London-based designer Jo Ham and brought to life by talented makers in the UK. Joanna gained a BFA Fine Art with a specialism in anatomy from Oxford University's Ruskin School of Art. Her work seeks to celebrate the everyday. Informed by her studies and early career in design, she has always been fascinated by popular culture and uses Rabbit to shine a light on life’s simple pleasures. In particular how we interact with one another through work and play. The resulting social commentary creates HAM's happy world, where our daily rituals, likes and hobbies are immortalised in print for all to enjoy. Joanna also works in collaboration with other like minded businesses, creating bespoke Rabbits and packaging for 'The Body Shop's Forever Against Animal Testing Campaign',  made gold leaf artwork for Print Club London, designed a giant mural for kids design shop Molly Meg, installed public art for design junction Kings Cross,  London Design Festival, wrapped a Mini Countryman in Rabbits, styled store windows for retailer West Elm, exhibited at Colette Paris, run a pop-up shop at Top shop's flagship store and created limited edition art prints for the cancer charity Maggie's. In 2018, Jo was awarded Natwest's UK Creative Industries Entrepreneur of the Year and the Aviva Women of the Future Arts and Culture Prize. Aside from HAM, Jo is also a freelance visual artist. Using photograms and digital imaging she blurs the lines between drawing and photography, fashion and fine art. Recent commissions include artwork for Nike, The Berkeley Hotel and Eurostar. You can find out more at joannaham.com. HAM’s debut homeware collection of ceramics and fabrics were first picked up by Liberty and have since been exhibited in London, New York and Paris, featured on the pages of international magazines and resides on the shelves of leading retailers in over thirty countries around the world.
